Eggs
Our heritage laying hens produce eggs in a range of colours, sizes, and rhythms. Blues, greens, deep browns, and everything between, collected daily and sold ungraded at the farm gate.
The flock is small and the hens lay at their own pace, so eggs are sold by wait list rather than first come, first served. Join the list below and we will be in touch when a spot opens. Pickup is from the farmstand, by arrangement, and can be combined with plant orders.
Chicken
We are raising small batches of meat birds on pasture. We have chosen slower-growing heritage-type breeds, Bresse and Mistral Gris, rather than commercial Cornish Cross. They take longer to reach weight, range actively, and the difference shows in the bird.
Whole chickens are sold in limited numbers, seasonally. If you would like to be notified when birds are available, add a note to the wait list form above.
Chicks and Hatching Eggs
We may offer day-old chicks and hatching eggs from the laying flock in limited quantities. If you are interested, get in touch and tell us what you are looking for.
As with everything at Glenraven, quantities are small and timing follows the season. Some months are abundant. Others are quieter. Both are expected.
