A Working Landscape
Glenraven is a small farm and nursery in the Burgoyne Valley on Salt Spring Island. The fields, gardens, and tunnels share the same soil and rhythm, each shaping the other through the seasons.
We grow hardy perennials, native plants, and ornamental grasses for trade and garden use, alongside food crops, fruit trees, and pasture. Everything is free of pesticides and neonics, raised in peat-free media, and tended with care for pollinators and soil life.
Our work follows a simple goal: to grow what belongs, and to leave the land stronger for having done so.
About Glenraven
Glenraven Farm & Nursery began as a way to learn through growing. What started with a small nursery has become a working farm that continues to evolve with each season. The days are shaped by soil, weather, and the steady rhythm of tending what endures.
Plant Collection
The plant collection at Glenraven reflects what thrives here. Hardy perennials, native plants, and grasses are grown for gardens, chosen for their structure, resilience, and quiet character. Each plant is raised with care for the soil it grows in and the place it will go next.
Beyond the nursery beds, the farm stretches into meadow and orchard. Sheep graze through the growing season, bees work the edges of the fields, and a pond collects rainwater for irrigation. Regenerative practices are being added slowly, as we learn what the land asks for.
Glenraven Farm & Nursery respectfully acknowledges that we live and work within the ancestral and unceded traditional territory of the Hul’qumi’num and SENĆOŦEN speaking peoples.
